Press Release

Stand with Hussain: Arbaeen Walk

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Arbaeen is the anniversary of the 40th day after Ashura, the day when Imam Hussain and his companions were unjustly martyred in Karbala.

Imam Hussain refused to pay allegiance to the ruler, Yazid, due to his corrupt and immoral ways. Yazid, part of the Ummayid Dynasty, was a tyrant and debaucher who mocked and denied the Prophet’s teachings and cruelly oppressed the people. Every year, millions flock to Karbala, Iraq, to pay homage to Imam Hussain for standing up to justice and truth.

In support to the eternal message of Imam Hussain, Standwithdignity.org is organizing a peaceful walk on Sunday October 3, 2021 at 2pm in Princeton, NJ to resonate the call of truth and justice which Imam Hussain stood up for and to express our support to the human values which he sacrificed his life for. The walk will start at the Municipal Parking Lot on Witherspoon, Princeton, NJ and end at Monument Park.  Attendees are requested to observe proper Islamic attire, wear black clothes, and observe social distancing guidelines.
